Harmony Veterans Honor Roll
This was an unscheduled stop found at the intersection of two small roads in a very small town. There isn't much here; two or three dozen homes, a small school, one convenience store with fuel, a laundry mat and car wash, two auto repair shops, an ambulance garage and the US Post Office. The largest feature is community recreation area where this memorial is located. The US Census reports there are over 380 homes and a thousand people living here, and haven't a clue where they all are - because this crossroads is the ONLY evidence of a community.
Obviously Saturday nights in Harmony are not the noise making whoopin and hollering found is most American towns. But I know the young men and women of the village that are serving today would enjoy a Saturday night in Harmony when the unit deploys. It's tough living in a small town, and it can be even tougher to leave it.
