July 17, 2001.
 
Joseph A. Paradis, Korean War Veteran,
POW and Purple Heart Recipient
 
was solely responsible in obtaining
the park from the city for the purpose
of establishing a Veterans Park.
 
His unselfish committment and
Dedication to this major project
Will always be remembered."

Citizens of Lewiston
in honor of 
the men and women 
who served in the
armed forces during
the World Wars
and the Korean Conflict
and the VietNam War
all future wars 
and conflicts"
 
 
"GOLD STAR MOTHERS
 
The term "Gold Star Mothers" applies to mothers who sons or daughters
died while in service to our country. The gold star symbolizes the honor
and glory accorded a person for supreme sacrifice for his or her country
and the devotion and pride of the family in this loved one's sacrifice.
Amerian Gold Star Mothers, Inc. was founded nationally after the first World War,
June 4, 1928, to perpetuate the ideals of Americanism for which their children
had so gallantly founght and died."
