Boonville, IN (May 14, 2018) -

Had I visited last year at this time I likely would gone away disappointed with Warrick County. The only monument on the courthouse lawn was a four seal Vietnam memorial. The newest effort by the Citizens of Warrick and a few sparkplug supporters reveals that the county does truly appreciate the sacrifices made by all of its veterans.

This stop is dedicated to the memory of Cpl Lonnie Weisheit, US Army, who gave his life for his country on June 21, 1970.

BOONVILLE: Courthouse, Locust St at 2nd St, Boonville, IN.

American personnel and equipment had to be moved around at the end of the war in Europe. In early June of 1945 heavy bombers and Air Corp personnel were making ferry flights home. This recording is a quick interview of two weary GI's as they arrived at Bradley Airfield in Hartford, Connecticut. The second Corporal heard is Henry Eastrich of Boonville.
