This county is dedicated to a friend and shipmate, Radioman Second Class John Perrotta, US Coast Guard. John sailed to war aboard a Coast Guard cutter in 1969. Most American don't realize our Coast Guard is a military service that has participated in EVERY armed conflict of the United States since the service began as the Revenue Cutter Service in 1790. John's infectious enthusiasm kept many of his shipmates smiling on long nights when there was little reason to smile. His Brooklyn accent is the first thing the crew remembers, but certainly not the last good thing about him. Semper Paratus, shipmate!
