Bonners Ferry, ID (July 18, 2019) - For many pilots, including me, all of Idaho is a huge collection of fascinating and challenging canyons. Each one holds an ever changing mystery of sinking air, wind shear and density altitude. Some landing fields  appear only at the last moment as a canyon widens or makes a slight turn. Often these fields provide only a downwind departure because of mountain ridges. As pilots we know and understand the danger of these canyons before we enter. Like life itself, the thrill of the challenges outweigh the risks.
