New England Counties Completed

September 1, 2017. Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut were finished during a three week in August. A total of seventy-two stops were planned, and about 100 were actually completed. I was especially surprised at the number of monuments and memorials here, and that many local residents actually understood what they were and could give cogent directions to the locations.

As usual, some of the photos will be posted quickly, and others will be posted as research time allows.

Four Days - 1,700 Miles

Gold Hill, NC  (August 11, 2016) - I can't believe it! I actually got away from the constant rains that had surrounded the Carolinas. An early Sunday morning departure put me slightly north of Wythville, Virginia, before I felt any rain. I figured I would ride wet for many miles, but the worst of it was just a slight sprinkle which helped cool me down.

Crossing the West Virginia border at Princeton was a treat. The rest area/welcome center now has a very nice VietNam honor roll remembering the fallen of several WV counties in the region. While there I got the opportunity to meet and get acquainted with Officer Brandon Schoonover of the Roanoke County, Virginia, PD. A veteran himself, he gave me a few clues to memorial in his area. This was just the first of a few good conversations I had during the next four days.

A $15 Offer Dedicates a County to YOUR Honored Veteran

Gold Hill, NC - In order for me to finish this project within a reasonable time I must now ask for support from those that understand and appreciate the goals of the tour - to honor and remember our military veterans.

There are 3,059 counties in the lower 48 states to visit and it would be my greatest pleasure to have each of the introduction pages dedicated in remembrance of an American military veteran. All it takes to have your honored veteran remembered on one of these pages is a small offer of $15 or more.

Florida Counties Completed

Laurel & Hardy Museum at Harlem, GA
Hitchin a ride with Stan and Ollie

October 23, 2015 - I got home last night well after dark, tired, a bit chilly, and happy to say the 67 counties of Florida are now completed. The last stop yesteray was a "tourism" visit at Harlem, Georgia to the Laurel and Hardy Museum. The sign under the car says it all, "A Perfect Day."

During the last six days I went diagonally across Georgia, across the panhandle of Florida into central Florida and then back across Georgia to South Carolina and then home.

The plan is to get back into Georiga by the second week of November and finish the eastern and southern sections. That will be followed by visits to Alabama and Mississippi. I'll work through the winter - doing Louisiana and southern Texas.  Remember, I need your help - send a PayPal donation to This email address is being protected from spambots.
